Ms. Karen Sewell, Secretary for Education of New Zealand, visited Tsinghua on November 22. Tsinghua Vice President Xie Weihe had a talk with Ms. Sewell. Also attending the talk were New Zealand Education Counselor Ms. Guergana Guermanoff, Ms. Cecily Lin from New Zealand Ministry of Education and Professor Bai Yongyi, who is responsible for the cooperation between Tsinghua and Qing Hai University.
Ms. Sewell gave an outline of education in New Zealand and expressed the hope that more collaboration could be built between universities in News Zealand and Tsinghua. They discussed multi-cooperation among universities of New Zealand, Tsinghua, and Qing Hai University during their talk.
