The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (BOCOG) and the Beijing Olympic Games Volunteer Work Coordination Group jointly announced on August 28th that the recruitment campaign for the Beijing Olympic and Para-Olympic Games volunteers was officially launched.
A sign-up campaign “Volunteer Beijing, I'm one” was initiated the same day in the Redbud Student Dormitory at Tsinghua University. The sign-up campaign marked the official start of recruitment for the Beijing Olympic and Para-Olympic volunteers at Tsinghua. Many Tsinghua teachers and students participated in the event. The website and inquiry hotline were also unveiled that day.
Liao Shuren, a Department of Computer Science and Technology student, noted that is was a precious chance for him to participate in such activities. “I can also meet some news friends,” said Liao.
