A ceremony to mark the inauguration of the Center for Science, Technology & Education Policy, Tsinghua University was held April 25. Tsinghua President Gu Binglin and Academician Ni Weidou, who is the chairman of the Science & Technology Commission, Ministry of Education, attended the event.
In his address to the ceremony, President Gu emphasized the importance of the research of humanities and social science for Tsinghua as it builds into a world-class university. He also stressed the importance of innovative ability.
Over the years, Tsinghua has set up institutes and research centers for strategy and policy studies such as the Institute of Education Research, Development Research Academy for the 21st Century, and the School of Public Policy and Management.
