Renowned physicist Zhou Guangzhao, who is the chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology and a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, spoke at the Tsinghua Forum on April 29.
Professor Zhou, a graduate of the Physics Department, gave a speech to students on “Learning, Creation and Innovation.”
In his speech, Professor Zhou stressed the importance of innovation in the development of a nation. He talked about innovation as a concept, the innovative circumstances that occur in scientific research, and innovation in team work.
The Tsinghua Forum, sponsored by the Academic Affairs Committee of the university, features peakers addressing a wide range of topics, including science and technology, economy, society and culture as they are related to the development of China and the world.
The Forum is held four times a year.
