Professor William Wulf, President of the National Academy of Engineering of the U.S., visited Tsinghua December 19. Professor Chen Xi, Chairman of the University Council met and had a talk with Professor Wulf. Vice President Kang Kejun participated in the talk.
Chen Xi welcomed Professor Wulf to Tsinghua and gave an outline of the history, disciplines development and international exchange of the university. The two sides also exchanged ideas on future cooperation.
After the talk, Professor Wulf paid visits to Joint Laboratory of Environment Simulation and Pollution Control and the Network Research Center.
Professor Wulf was elected President of the National Academy of Engineering in 1997.
