Dr. Patricia McCarney, associate vice president of the University of Toronto, visited Tsinghua April 21 and signed a memo of understanding for ongoing cooperation between the two schools.
Tsinghua President Gu Binglin met and had a friendly talk with Dr. McCarney. After the talk, Dr. McCarney and President Gu signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Toronto and Tsinghua. An agreement between the UT Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering and the Tsinghua School of Mechanical Engineering was also signed.
Dr. McCarney also toured the School of Medicine, the Nanotechnology Center, and the School of Law, and gave a lecture at the School of Public Policy and Management.
