The exhibition “Design Utopia 1880-1980: 100 Years of Design History / The Biagetti-Koenig Collection”, Asia’s largest modern design exhibition, recently opened in the Tsinghua University Art Museum.

One hundred and fifty-eight modern designs jointly reflect on how people innovated over a century, despite restrictions. Through the works of these elite designers, we can see their emotions about the age of industrialization and mechanization, and their conscious will to adapt to conditions.
Luca Ferrari, the Ambassador of Italy to the People's Republic of China, Lu Xiaobo, Vice President of the China Artists’ Association and Dean of the Tsinghua University Academy of Arts & Design, and Pan Lusheng, Vice President of the China Federation of Literacy and Art Circles, President of the Chinese Folk Literature and Art Association, and President of Shandong University of Art and Design (SUAD) participated in the opening ceremony on June 3.
Hang Jian, Vice Director of the Academic Committee of the China Academy of Arts (CAA) and Head of the CAA Art Museums, and Su Dan, Vice Head of the Tsinghua University Art Museum and the Chinese co-curator of this exhibition, also delivered speeches at the event. Alessandro Guerriero, the Italian co-curator, sent his best wishes for the exhibition by video message.
